While a bottle of wine is a great hostess gift, I think holiday parties are the time to go the extra mile. I love everything Anthropologie—maybe one day, my home will look like their stunning window displays—but the holiday season really brings out the best in their decor. That’s how I landed on the perfect, affordable present for any host: their too-cute printed tea towels.

The best gifts are those that the person wouldn’t buy for themselves, and these seasonal towels fit the bill. Fancy tea towels dress up any kitchen, but it’s not always practical to buy one for every season—so bringing one with you to a Christmas potluck or Secret Santa exchange is a fun, unexpected treat that will make their kitchen feel festive through the New Year. Anthropologie has so many fun options—it’s hard to pick a favorite, but I love this cute penguin that can be used through the winter. For something with a more obvious holiday theme, go for one of the Christmas-themed patterns, or this cute dog dressed in twinkle lights, or a festive bottle of bubbly. The best part? Most of them fall in the $18-$24 range.

All of the dish towels are cotton and machine-washable, and many of the seasonal patterns are exclusive artist collaborations, like this celebratory reindeer from NYC-based illustrator Jennifer Orkin of August Wren. You’re better off buying five or six of these for all of your party-going needs—you won’t be able to pick just one favorite, anyway!

While this is the perfect gift year-round, this season’s prints are a treat for any cook. Go the extra mile and use a tea towel to wrap homemade cookies or champagne! You’ll be everyone’s favorite guest.
