Vintage Goods or Antiques as Gifts: Yes Please!

Vintage Goods or Antiques as Gifts: Yes Please!

Let's be honest, giving and receiving gifts is so much fun. There's nothing we don't like about it — and even though it typically feels better to give than to receive, that doesn't mean we don't get super excited when we're given a doozie of a gift.

One particular doozie gift we received was vintage furniture. We were lucky enough to have been given a mid century bedroom set when we graduated college. We were moving into our first apartment and didn't own a thing. We went to look at it (to make sure it met our we own nothing, but we're still picky mentality) and sure enough it was everything we hoped and dreamed it would be.

Sleek, mid-century modern dressers and nightstand were now ours, just for graduating college! We used it in our first apartment and when we moved into our second home, it was put in the guest bedroom. We recently bought a new, large bed and realized that the vintage dressers would look great with the new bed. It's almost as if we were given the gift all over again.

Besides an old Le Creuset dutch oven and a cast iron skillet set, the bedroom set is the only other vintage item we've received as a gift, and it's by far our favorite. We've already had it for four years and can't imagine parting with it any time soon.

Have you received an vintage or antique item as a gift?
