Apartment Therapy Sees the Newest from Whirlpool

This week's Whirlpool event wowed with the latest washers and dryers, kitchen appliances and technologies from Amana, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Maytag, Gladiator and Whirlpool. In the kitchen and the laundry room, we were lucky to see the newest products to make cooking and laundry time easy, efficient and modern.

Who doesn't crave the signature KitchenAid mixer? It comes in many fashion pop colors and has new attachments to make it even more covetable. KitchenAid also featured what I would call the Rolls Royce of toasters. This toaster automatically raises and lowers your bread (no more risking a burn while trying to get to bread!), keeps your bread warm while it waits, and has logical settings for frozen items, bagels and more. Their new single-serve coffee maker rivals the consumer favorites by using any coffee grounds, rather than the expensive single-serve cups.

Whirlpool's washers and dryers are energy efficient and have more settings than ever! Dryers use sense technology to stop when your laundry is dry, no matter how long it was set to go, and users can fill the washers with detergent, to be distributed as needed by the washer. All of the technologies help protect, maintain and lengthen the life of your clothes. For this New Yorker without an in-unit washer and dryer, these would be a dream come true! As an added bonus, all of their products are made in the U.S.A..

Whirlpool also showcased their induction stovetop - safer than a gas stove and a serious time-saver. You can go from zero to boil in a minute, and areas adjacent to the heated space are cold to the touch. This stovetop has all the heat control benefits of a gas stove and makes cook time more efficient with better consistency and rapid heating.

Jenn-Air's oven attracted a lot of attention from the event attendees. This smart oven can store recipe cook times, and weigh your item and cook it based on your desired outcome. The next generation, we were told, will store personal recipes from you, rather than ones pre-programmed into the oven. In this model, anything from mac-n-cheese to your Thanksgiving turkey can be cooked precisely for its weight, size and specific type — without any guesswork on your part.

Maytag was showing consumer-driven products, appliances made with the user in mind. The dishwasher featured many attachments and compartments, perfect for all the different utensils and dishes we put in the washer. The refrigerator is more energy efficient, keeps your food fresh longer, and has an extra large bottom freezer, even with a place to store your pizza boxes! The oven has a quick two hour self-cleaning technology that helps you avoid noxious cleaners or all-day heat-fest. These appliances are also made in the U.S.A..

Thank you to the Whirlpool brands for your hospitality at such a great event!
