Peak TV is about to get...peaker? Apple Video, the tech company's foray into original content, has been snatching up some seriously amazing sounding shows. Today marks another announcement that we're particularly excited about: A docuseries about extraordinarily designed spaces, called Home.
Apple Video ordered ten episodes of the straight-to-series show, which comes from Matt Tynauer and Corey Reese's Altimeter Films, Tony-nominated producer Matthew Weaver, and Time Inc. Productions, according to Deadline.
The hourlong show offers viewers a never-before-seen look inside the world's most extraordinary homes and unveils the boundary-pushing imagination of the visionaries who dreamed and built them.
And we imagine it will be beautiful to watch: Weaver is a producer for the stunning Netflix docuseries, Chef's Table.
This isn't the first show from upcoming Apple Video that we're excited for; the company announced back in November that its first scripted series would be take place on a TV morning show, and would star Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston.
Apple also announced another project called Amazing Stories, and it's actually a reboot of an '80s series from Steven Spielberg. The sci-fi storylines a la The Twilight Zone were critical favorites, garnering twelve Emmy nominations and five wins during its two season run, according to Variety.
We're still waiting for the tech giant to confirm how they'll roll out episodes of their original series, whether it'll be exclusively through iTunes, or with a partnership with an existing streaming service, or both (or something different entirely!). Either way, we're excitedly awaiting more info on Home.
