Kids Room Revisted: Arden Makes Room For Conrad

Last spring we got a glimpse into Arden’s white and black room. Soon after, Arden’s family moved into her great grandparents’ home. First Arden’s mom, Reichel, had to transpose Arden’s room from an old home to a mid-century ranch, then she had to rethink the room in anticipation of Arden’s baby brother, Conrad. Measuring in at a spacious 14×10′, the room came big on space but low on light, so the family went for bright white walls. Room requirements included a nursing spot, efficient storage, bookshelves, and play space. Mission accomplished!

Reichel swapped out Arden’s vintage dresser for an IKEA Hemnes with a knob upgrade, topping it with Arden’s Cooshee changer and a tiered wire bin for all of Conrad’s diapering needs. The nursing corner was tricked out with the Empire Rocker by Nurseryworks.

Arden upgraded to the IKEA Minnen bed, made with a black, white, and fuchsia mix of bedding from IKEA, Biscuit Home, and PB Teen. Conrad’s crib sheet is from Land of Nod. A light fixture from the family’s old house was repurposed for the kids’ room, IKEA wall ledges were installed for their book collection, and a black and white tent provides the perfect hideout.

Thanks, Reichel!
