On August 4, Ariana Grande posted a photo dump to Instagram that included a few snaps of random things. She gave fans a couple pictures of a fluffy poodle, a clip from “Labyrinth,” and a pic of a basket that appears to be filled with succulent kits that look like party favors.

Each kit includes a Mexican snowball succulent (Echeveria elegans), a bag of Manuka Honey Pops, and an attached note that could either be care instructions or a thank you note.

Giving plants as party favors or thank you gifts is not only a thoughtful way to show you care, but your guests will remember your event every time they look at the plant. As long as the plant is alive and well, so are their memories.

Plus, succulents make awesome party favors because even guests who have no experience taking care of plants should be able to keep them alive — an occasional watering and sunlight is all they need.

And it looks like Grande isn’t alone in the “succulents make great party favors” camp. A simple search of the #SucculentPartyFavors hashtag on Instagram pulls up some really beautiful displays from weddings, bridal showers, and other big life events.

You can customize the pot to make each succulent as simple or frilly as you’d like, depending on the theme of the party.

Grande may be a style icon, role model, and top-tier pop star, but she can now add “plant influencer” to her list of credentials.
