Q: I just moved into a great two-bedroom apartment and have used Apartment Therapy tips to make a lot of decorating decisions. One wall has me a bit stuck, though. It's a long (~12 feet) blank wall that has my favorite reading chair up against it and will likely have a short bookcase of some sort stretching across much of the wall (suggestions for particular bookcases welcome!).
My question, though, is what to do art-wise above the bookcase. I don't like the look of three or four big pieces all lined up, so I'm considering some sort of art cluster (though it would look too... cluttered to stretch that across the whole wall). The other possibility I've considered is stretching wire across the whole wall and clipping prints from a recent month-long cross-country road trip either in all different sizes or a uniform print size. I have a lot of art, so I'm not looking to buy new things, but the biggest piece I have is about 3 ft. by 3 ft. Just fyi, I'm not allowed to paint anything on the walls. What should I do?
