Add chic bohemian style vibes to your bedroom without ever leaving home. These real rooms ace the free-spirited Artful Bohemian look. And they may even motivate your own shopping spree; you can shop for the items you see in these bedrooms online! We’ve also listed the effective design elements used to illustrate why these rooms work. Use the resources below to craft an online shopping list for your own beautiful boho bedroom.

Layers

Create some depth in your room by adding layers of pillows, throws, rugs, and wall decor, like Amanda did in her studio apartment‘s bedroom area. No matter your room’s style, lots of layers will increase the coziness in your bedroom. Choose wall decor that has dimension and texture and isn’t simply flush with the wall. Partner with a soothing color palette, and you’ll combine comfort with serenity.

Texture

Add pillows, throws, rugs, and wall hangings that not only feel great but also add a textured element that is pleasing to the eye and to the touch. Boho style is as much about how it feels as how it looks, so consider an array of different touchable materials, like in Lulu and Justin’s abode.

Pattern

Mixing patterns in a bedroom can add an energy to the space, but it can also add casualness, too. There’s something about seeing different patterns interacting in one small space that gives off a “casual” vibe. Combined with layering and texture, pattern can definitely increase the boho style of a bedroom. It did in Melanie and Dalton’s Dallas bedroom.

Rich color

As the first example in this post proved, you don’t have to have a ton of color in a space to achieve boho vibes. But if a bedroom feels naked to you without some bold hues, go for rich, earthy shades of color like Mike and Rachel did. Add rugs to your room to your heart’s desire. Moroccan, Persian, Kilim — anything with color and pattern. Go minimal and modern with one strong color on an accent wall.
