Anti-Asian hate crimes have increased by nearly 150 percent since the start of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, according to a report released by the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University, San Bernardino earlier this month. Fueled largely by racist “China virus” or “Wuhan virus” rhetoric used by former President Donald Trump and GOP lawmakers, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the U.S. have been beaten, killed, or told to “go back to their countries.” Exacerbated by the pandemic, too, Asian-owned businesses have suffered, with many local Chinatowns across the nation seeing a sharp decline in business.

For online shoppers interested in supporting Asian-owned businesses during these fraught times, below is a (non-comprehensive!) list of Asian-owned businesses with home goods to support today and beyond. It will be updated accordingly. Let us know if your favorite Asian-owned business within the home space should be added to this list. For more ways to support the AAPI community, click here.
