We’ve all been there: you missed your flight, had a mix-up with your hotel room, or got sick on the first day of your trip. (Or, in a true vacation horror story, all of the above.) Sometimes, no matter how much work you put into a vacation, it just doesn’t go as planned. The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) feels your pain, so they’re giving one lucky person the chance to re-do a trip that went horribly wrong. And this time, they’re calling in reinforcements.

ASTA wants to help someone go on the true vacation of their dreams—one without any snags or surprises—valued at up to $10,000. To ensure that everything goes smoothly, the winner will get the help of an ASTA expert travel advisor to take care of everything from securing flights to booking accommodations and activities.

Once you work with a travel advisor, you’ll wonder how you ever survived without one. These advisors have access to fares and schedules the public doesn’t, and they can get you discounts you didn’t even know existed. Plus, from canceled connecting flights to failed day excursions, they’ve truly seen it all. They know what to book and what to avoid, and their knowledge will help you make it the best trip ever.

If you have a travel horror story (and seriously, who doesn’t?), share it using this online submission form. You’ll need to tell your story and explain why you deserve a vacation do-over in 500 words or less and create a video of yourself telling the story, too. You’ll also need to follow TravelSense.org on Instagram and Facebook and share their Vacation Do-Over post on your own Instagram and Facebook profiles. Honestly, it’s a small price to pay for the chance at winning an unforgettable trip planned by an expert.

The contest closes on July 19th and the winner will be announced August 1st, so get out there and share your worst. Finally, something good may come of that awful trip!
