Today is yet another in a series of updates/sneak peaks of those featured in our newest book: Apartment Therapy Presents: Real Homes, Real People, Hundreds of Design Solutions. This time, we revisit a 2005 AT I’ve Got Color Contest winner’s home…which also happens to belong to ATLA’s very own Jonathan Lo.

The book showcases 40 homes of AT readers including interviews, photos and resources. There’s also some great commentary by Maxwell!

ATLA’s own Jonathan Lo was once a faithful AT reader like the rest of you when he entered his townhouse into the 2005 I’ve Got Color Contest. Jonathan ended up as a 2nd place winning national finalist, so of course we had to include his bright and cheery abode in the AT book. He later went on to be invited to become an ATLA editor and has been sharing his bountiful knowledge of design, decor and of course, colour, ever since. Here’s Jonathan in his own words about the current status of his place since the contest.

“What’s changed since the Color Contest? Um… not much.

I’ve added in a small Saarinen-esque side table underneath the painting on the back wall. There are a few small accessory switch outs too. The vase with the sun graphic by the couch, the peacock figurine in the shelf. Otherwise… it’s pretty much the same. I use the room mainly as my guest bedroom, and it’s also the place for the “after dinner” hang-out when I entertain. The doors lead out to my patio, which has a nice fountain and small courtyard.”
