I've been wanting a mirror for our dining room (to go behind the dining table) since we moved in last November, but had been unable to find one that was a nice strong horizontal shape. I wanted one that would fit our dining area perfectly, but every mirror I saw, both new and antique, wasn't quite the right size. It was frustrating.
Then, on a tour of Room & Board's 2008 collection, they mentioned that they had stepped up their custom order program, extending it much more broadly to tables, lighting, pillows, cabinets and YES mirrors. This is an awesome thing and particularly great for anyone seeking a custom mirror size.
You can choose their Infinity Mirror design (the one I chose) or their natural or stainless steel frames and then choose almost any size you want (they've also got round shapes). They make them in Minnesota and then ship directly to you. Prices range from $450 to $1500.
It would be even better if you could also get their wood frames in this program, but that is not possible YET (maybe next year?). In the meantime, this is a great great start.
