Hey we're meeting tonight and we've got 107 people coming!

Come on down this eve to our 9th meetup which is featuring our first full blown theme: The Green Home: Problems & Solutions of Design. We've got a really cool bunch of design guests including...

• Margaret Lydecker of NYC Green Drinks
• John Berg of Berg Design Architects
• Gita Nandan of Thread Collective and Green Home NYC
• Bart Bettencourt of Bettencourt Woods.

as well as

• a house tour of Greenbelt in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn's first LEED certified residences.

We'll start off asking them about the biggest problems and the biggest solutions that they see in Green Design today and then they'll be all yours to pepper with questions. Bring good ones.

They'll also get a chance to showcase one of their designs.

Then we'll go to our Green Home House Tour, which will be a slide show like last month.

It's going to be busy so we're starting early with drinks and carving out more time for people to schmooze and network, so come on time at 6:30

1. Designer Showcase (3 spots - 30 min)

This is where we feature new, fresh and upcoming designers and their ideas. Each designer gets 5 minutes to present and 5 minutes for questions. We then blog you online and get you and your idea out into the world.

2. House Tour (1 spot - 20 min)

This is a personal house tour (via slideshow) of a notable home by the designer him or herself. You don't need to be a pro. We'll be pulling house tours from our readers online and you can feel free to email us if you're interested in highlighting your prowess. We'll also put this online.

3. Good Questions (infinite - 30 min)

Many had asked for more chances to ask questions, schmooze and chat. This is it. We'll end each session with a space for good question directed at either the house tour, the designers or the folks in the room.

Sign in, put it in your calendar and come on down...

• Presenters: email justine @ with MEETUP in subject line if you'd like to show in the next meetup. We'll get back to you right away.

"On the 1st Thursday each month at 7PM, 6 people get 5 minutes each to demo something cool to New York's product and furniture design community" We have open space, so email us today and get on the schedule (all info here and below).

We've always felt that the web's greatest asset was in creating community and that it should mirrored offline as well. Inspired by Scott Heiferman's NY Tech Meetup, which we've been going to lately, we've started a NY Design Meetup for product and furniture designers, architects, entrepreneurs, students and hackers.

Our goal is to provide a unique, efficient and entertaining forum for designers to get their ideas out to an interested crowd who can offer networking possibilities, exposure and good old applause.

Where else can people cheer you on for your design?

In addition, we'll be blogging each of our presenters each month, providing them with additional exposure on AT. If you're interested in coming or showing, come to this link, and sign in. Admission is free.
