Check out this little chat with Maxwell and me during our first week up and running. In his article,
Help with Home Design Comes to Chicago, Barrett Newkirk also talks with a reader about her experience with Apartment Therapy:

Lisa Firke, 47, lives in a Lincoln Park townhouse with her husband and two children. She said she took recommendations from Apartment Therapy on flower shops in her neighborhood that she hadn’t known before.

She was already familiar with Gillingham-Ryan and his approach from the New York blog. “He realizes that people take their homes personally, that it is more about how it feels than how it looks.”

Firke said she feels that the support network provided by Apartment Therapy and its readers sets the site apart from other blogs. “Everybody understands that we deal with clutter and that life isn’t pretty,” she said. “It’s really messy most of the time and everyone has strategies for dealing with the chaos.”
