AT on ... The Power of a Good Blanket

Last night it was cold in my apartment. Really cold. So cold that I considered turning on the heat for the first time since last winter. But our forced-air heating blows up so much dust (especially the first time we use it), so I really want to hold off for as long as possible. Good thing I am a blanket hoarder.

Instead of turning on the heat, we made some tea, pulled a couple of fleece blankets out of the closet, and got cuddled up underneath them on the couch. I admit, my nose was a little cold at first, but after a little while I was completely toasty and had no need to turn on the heat.

We won't be able to do this all winter, especially in the mornings when we're running around trying to get ready for work. But with all the blankets I have stored away, we should be able to put off turning on the heat for at least another few weeks.

Is there anything you do to delay turning on the heat?
