Pack Your (Virtual) Bags, Because You Can Livestream a Vacation to Australia This Weekend

Starting May 15 at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET, you can take yourself on a virtual Australian vacation courtesy of Tourism Australia’s “Live from Aus.” The totally free event is a weekend-long experience that will take you all over the country and “ignite your wanderlust,” as the press release promises.

Events begin bright and early at 7 a.m. local Australian time with a welcome event hosted by Australian television personality Clarence Slockee, who will broadcast live from Sydney’s South Coast. From there, Chris Hemsworth’s personal trainers take over for an hour-long morning workout in Byron Bay, followed by The Wiggles’ Kids Club, and then an event titled “Indigenous Ingredients” with Jock Zonfrillo.

Every hour throughout the entire weekend, starting at 7 a.m. local time and ending at 10 p.m. local time, a new host will take over the Facebook livestream and offer a new activity for virtual vacationers. 

Some of the most anticipated events include an Aussie wildlife session with Zookeeper Chad and Editor in Chief of InStyle Laura Brown, a “Crocodile Encounter” with Matt Wright, cheesemaking with Jo Barrett & Matt Stone in Yarra Valley, and “A Night at the Sydney Opera House.”
