Baby V's Pink Peony Nursery

We're expecting a little girl this month! We finally got her nursery all put together, and we love it. It's sunny, colorful, and welcoming. We wanted to keep all of the major purchases gender-neutral so we can use them again in the future or pass them along as hand-me-downs, so decided to make the main "girly" part of the room the wall color.

I chose Martha Stewart's "Peony" for three of the walls, and her "Pink Sea Salt" for the last wall. I've always admired this nursery on Kate's Pencil Box and wanted to do something similar – a hand-painted mural of peonies that fill the room with color and movement but can live on past the newborn stage.

For most everything else, we chose neutral grays, tans, and whites for our color palette. A white crib (Babies R Us), chair (Ikea), curtains (World Market) and feminine ceiling lamp (also Ikea) set the base. The dresser was a lucky find from mom's basement. The patterned rug from Urban Outfitters and the gray pouf from Target add some texture. The bookshelves (Ikea) display the array of books we've collected from friends. The prints are all in white Ikea frames so they can live on the wall together nicely (Small Adventure on Etsy, Urban Outfitters, Rifle Paper Co calendar pages, The Animal Print Shop). The bunny lamp was a steal at Anthropologie (perfect sale-room timing!) and the mobile, my favorite thing in the room, is from Bondurant Mountain Art on Etsy. The bunny thing just kind of happened, and I think they work nicely with the coral color and peonies.
