It’s been a long year, to say the least. Between a pandemic, adjusting to the seemingly boundary-less hours of WFH, and spending birthdays and holidays away from our loved ones, most of us are more than ready to leave 2020 behind. And while the new year is just around the corner and the COVID-19 vaccine has finally arrived, it will take some time for life to look completely normal again. Until then, we should all keep prioritizing our mental health and practicing self-care when we can.

And if you’ve maxed out all the coloring books and puzzles on your bookshelf, it’s the good time to find solace in the rock art masterpieces by @pj.85. Pontus Jansson is a rock balancing artist in Sweden. With each post, he delivers the moment of zen we so badly need this year.

He creates rock towers and arches that appear to defy gravity, using rocks of all shapes and sizes.

His balance rock formations always have the perfect backdrop too. From crystal clear and calming bodies of water to the most lush, serene landscapes.

For a double dose of zen, you have to watch his process videos. Watching him patiently balance one rock at a time and build his creation from the ground up, is both mesmerizing and awe-inspiring–and a fun way to get lost in nature until we can all travel safely again.

Although you can’t buy Pontus’ individual balanced rock formations, you can buy stunning photographed prints and bring that same sense of serenity to the walls of your home. Check out his full collection of art and home decor here.
