Banana Guard: Practical Or B-A-N-A-N-A-S?

Awhile back we talked about the Banana Bunker, although most of you weren't super on board with it's... um... suggestive shape, we still like the idea of keeping our fruit protected from the dark depths of a backpack. This one even claims to fit most sizes of banana...

We hadn't really thought about the new wave of protective banana covers fitting assorted sizes, but it does make sense. Curved bananas slide right in while straighter versions adapt quite nicely. They retail for $14.95 and come in red, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink.

Even if you're not into having an extra case for your banana, they could still be handy as a mold for other culinary kid adventures, like making a banana made of jello! There's probably more, but the idea of a Jello-banana is making the kid in us giggle, as well as the adult, but for whole other reasons!

What do you think? Are they practical or unnecessary? Let us know in the comments below!
