They may no longer live in the White House, but former President and First Lady Barack and Michelle Obama still know how to live the good life.

On Thursday, TMZ.com reported that the Obama family is rumored to be buying a new home on the uber-wealthy New England island of Martha’s Vineyard, where the family pops by for their annual summer vacation. According to the story, the family has been renting the nearly 6,900-square-foot estate all summer from Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousebeck, and are so taken with the property that they’re planning on making the move a permanent one. The property is currently listed at $14.85 million, but TMZ claims they’ll manage to get the price down.

Built in 2001, the seven-bed, eight-and-a-half-bath sprawling estate is set on over 29 acres of natural beauty right on Edgartown Great Pond, with stunning water views. Filled with spaces for entertaining, the contemporary-style home is the epitome of summer chic. A spacious living room has vaulted ceilings and a stone fireplace, while a more casual family room also features a large fireplace and game area. A large chef’s kitchen has everything from stainless steel appliances to bar seating and addition eat-in space. A more formal dining is also a stunning feature, complete with surrounding walls of windows that allow the New England light to stream in. A sun room has a stone fireplace and more walls of oversized windows.

Head up the curved staircase and move into the master suite, which features a cozy fireplace and seating area, as well as doors that lead out to the private sundeck, where exquisite views that go all the way from the sprawling yard to the sparkling waterfront. The sundeck also features a built-in hot tub, perfect for soaking under the stars in the evening. The master bath is a luxurious private oasis, with his/hers sinks and a deep soaking tub. Outside the home, the estate has a variety of stunning spaces, ranging from classic stone patios next to the sparkling swimming pool to an endless rolling lawn that leads down to the waterfront, where you can grab a kayak and explore the coastline.

“Martha’s Vineyard has long been a getaway for the rich and famous. Former President Barack Obama ticks both those boxes–in a big way,” says Erik Gunther, Senior Editor and celebrity real estate expert at realtor.com. “The ex-Prez is now ready to lay out tens of millions on a spread in the Vineyard. Secluded and with plenty of room to build a place for his security detail, this getaway is destined to be a spot for the well-connected to spend some luxurious down time.”
