Are we having fun yet? Oh yes, we are. Il Salone is a total Disney Land of design for the home, and I wish you could be here with us (sleeplessly blogging at night and drinking espresso all day), but you might be better off just getting these missives from us about 9 hours later. Here are some brand new designs I liked from Vitra and an old Italian family company (that started by making wood toys) called Valsecchi. Enjoy!

New tilting chair by Barber & Osgerby for Vitra. Very comfortable and nice to sit in both relaxing AND sitting up at a desk.

New Jasper Morrison HAL chairs in pleasing wood and textile for Vitra (around classic Prouve table):

New Antonio Citterio lounger for Vitra for design lovers growing older.....

I loved these honest wood designs from this Italian company, Valsecchi 1918. I met the granddaughter of the founder, who told me that they started by making wooden toys, but when toys became plastic, they switched to furniture. All of it is beautifully done in solid wood with rubber feet that make each seat quiet and sticky to the floor.

Here's the lowdown from the tradepress (translated): "Designed by Luigi Baroli, Stickcollection combines technology with Valsecchi's own design criteria of the new philosophy of design detail where quality, ergonomics, ecology, discretion and lightness are imperative. A collection designed for either open spaces but also to decorate the interiors of the traditional house that can easily be extended also to the utilities, the community, the furnishings of the great outdoors."
