This Etsy Shop Sells Planters Made From Basketballs
Plants and basketball may seem like an unlikely match at first glance, but one Etsy shop proves that notion wrong by creating striking plants out of—you guessed it—basketballs.
Hoops & Horticulture takes various basketballs ranging in color and pattern and turns them into hanging and standing plant pots. They make an eye-catching addition to any shelf, or can be placed on a plant stand like these (plant stands are sold separately).
The hanging planters, like this one that features a classic Spalding basketball above, have four grommets and come with a sturdy rope for easy hanging. You can pot a plant directly in it, or just drop in an already-potted plant with ease.
Both the hanging and standing planters feature a plastic rim around the opening, and the mini basketball planters start at $45 while the full-size ranges from $75 to $110, depending on the design. Speaking of design…
Hoops & Horticulture make a variety of designer basketballs, like this floral print Spalding.
And since tie-dye is making a comeback, this hanging planter made from a Chinatown Market basketball is a unique way to incorporate the design trend into any space.
While there’s plenty of inspiration on Hoops & Horticulture’s Instagram account, there are only a select designs available for purchase at a time. However, there is good news: the Etsy shop restocks their stash regularly, so as long you check periodically, you’ll snag the basketball planter of your dreams. It’s time to give your plant decor a much-needed break from all that macrame.
Now that you know what to get the basketball enthusiast in your life, you can check @hoopsandhorticulture for shop updates and weekly restock announcements.
