If you’re lucky enough to have an extra room, the challenge is deciding what to do with it- and keeping it from being a dumping ground for random furniture and junk. Spare rooms may not be top priority when it comes to decor and budgets, but they have so much potential and can make life easier as multi-functional (and pretty!) rooms. With just paint and budget-friendly DIYs, this neglected space was transformed into a cool, calm room for dressing, working, and hanging out.

Erin and Dan from DIY Passion converted their house’s master bedroom into “a blog hangout and/or office and… dressing room,” and the transformation is almost unbelievable. The room went from being dark, dingy, and dated to fresh, cool, and calm.

My favorite element is the 3/4 painted wall and the fresh color palette. There are so many great design and decor details to take in. Erin and Dan really did a great job of making the room multi-functional but keeping a very cohesive look.

What’s also great about this room is that many of the pieces of furniture are old, mismatched pieces that Erin made-over. Head over to DIY Passion to see more pictures and a video tour from Erin herself with some insight into the decor as well as the DIY process that made it happen.
