When Cassie from Hi Sugarplum! moved into her home, the basic features were solid: a wall of windows, a brick fireplace, and plenty of space. But the room seemed too dark for her taste, and the furnishings didn’t feel quite right. Fast forward a few years, and it feels like a completely different room.

The white walls instantly brightened the room, while all the accents and accessories keep the room colorful and happy. Dark pillows and lampshades add contrast to the decor, and a mixture of graphic patterns add visual interest.

One of my favorite aspects of Cassie’s living room is how calm it feels even though there are a lot of different patterns in the room. Florals, flamestitch, tropical prints, black-and-white geometrics, and stripes are just a few of the patterns that pop up, but thanks to variations in scale and a unified palette, they all work together. The room feels lively but cozy, and the clean, white walls are warmed up by the interplay of all the different accessories in the room.

There is a lot more to this beautiful room than you can see in these few images (like the dragonfly wallpaper, tropical print wingbacks, and an adorable photo-bombing dog). For more pictures and a complete source list, head over to Hi Sugarplum!.
