Last week, we shared Nicole's living room transformation with you, today, it's the bedroom. From blank to beautiful, this is another complete room before and after, where you can really see the style of the inhabitant come alive…
Nicole tells us: For my bedroom I wanted to create a cozy, layered space that was serene and sophisticated with a hint of whimsy. My initial inspiration came from the fabric I chose for my headboard - a pattern from Kravet called Sestina. I loved the subtle colors and the pretty floral and aviary chinoiserie pattern. That fabric basically determined the overall color palette as well as the look and feel of the room.
Many of the pieces in my bedroom were eBay finds including the vintage Baker chests which I use as nightstands, the chandelier above my bed and a Chinese armoire that sits in the far right corner of the room which I use for extra storage. The space is quite tight...approximately 11 1/2' x 12'. The foundation of the room is a blue and cream wool rug from Madeline Weinrib that has an amazing tribal pattern. I also love crisp white sheets. The ones on my bed are from Pottery Barn. I love the preppy monogrammed shams!
Until recently, the walls were painted a pale gray and I just re-painted them a soothing blue color from Benjamin Moore called Beach Glass. That was the last element that finally made my bedroom feel complete.
