With a good eye and some great fabric, Meredith turned around a so-so (but still lucky!) internet find into a gorgeous mid century showstopper.

From Meredith: About a year ago I found a 1960s Ercol Windsor chair posted on Kijiji (Canadian Craigslist) for $100. The yellow, fuzzy fabric did nothing for me but I knew I could do something about that.

I usually sew covers myself but I was short of time and motivation so I had a local seamstress do the work and they came out even better than I could have hoped. The fabric is Carson Fiesta by Covington Fabrics & Design. It picks up those perfect mid century modern tones of a chair actually made in that time period and I no longer have any desire to refinish the wood to a lighter finish as this new fabric makes the original darker finish look fantastic!

Thank you, Meredith! You can see more of Meredith’s chair transformation on her blog Mockingbird Interiors.
