My room makeover::
The bathroom had not been updated since the house was built in 1978. The orange counters, brown cabinets and baby bath sink really didn't fit our style or needs. Our goal was to create a oasis within a budget, maintaining the number of fixtures, but updating everything to current energy standards. The architect we hired was based in Chicago and did a wonderful job of re-arranging the space to be more functional and within budget. We don't have such a glowing review of the contractor, but we will not dwell on that experience. The total budget for the supplies was close to 5,000.00 and we purchased them from a number of sources including wayfair. We then paid for the labor with the contractor.
My makeover advice::
Make sure to compare contractor bids before picking someone to work with. Also make sure that you get along with the contractor, this person will be in and out of your house for several months on end.
What I love most about my new space::
We love the light, and how much bigger the space feels simply by moving the location of the bath.
