We can all agree — too many closets is a good problem to have. Tanya decided to trade the closed storage for more square footage in her home office. See how she transformed it after the jump:

From Tanya:

In my current home and the one before that, I’ve been lucky enough to have a spare bedroom to use as a home office. In both spaces, I’ve needed less closed storage space and more square footage, so I’ve turned the closets into nooks, simply by removing the closet doors. In my current office, I had additional motivation: I could fit either the existing bi-fold doors or a 5 by 5 Ikea Expedit. I chose the Expedit. The nook is a handy place for my filing cabinet and a sentimental trunk (full of office supplies and notecards, and a perfect place to sit and sort paper work when my desk is too scary to approach). I know a nook isn’t suitable for everyone’s storage needs, but I’ve loved the idea and found it’s made my office space feel larger. I’ve got a lot of ideas for the nook — giving the filing cabinet a makeover, adding more shelves, maybe even a barn sliding barn door? — but it’s looked like this for a year now and I can’t imagine my office without the cozy little area.

Thank you Tanya!
