This fireplace lived in Patience’s little house by the sea, but it was old and dated so she waved her magic wand and presto! She tells us, “I wanted wow!” We’d say she got it.

Her contractor demolished the top of the hearth and replaced it with a thick slab of bluestone. The rest of the brick was covered with stone veneer. The mantle is made from an old beam from a demolished barn. She kept the original screen but cleaned it up and painted it with a high-heat spray paint.

She tells us, “The end result is dramatic and the natural mica in the stone literally makes the whole fireplace sparkle. The blue/gray color blends beautifully with the ocean, rocks and sky right outside the window. I wanted modern. I wanted organic. I got it all!”

Thank you Patience!
