International Owner
My room makeover::
When we bought our house six years ago, it really needed some updating. The guest bedroom's tiny bathroom was no exception. Barely used by the previous owners as a giant drying rack room (!), we really wanted to restore its function. The original builder grade wallpaper was in bad shape due to humidity, and well I hated every inch of this 80's nightmare...
We opted for a special tadelakt like wall treatment and some glass enamel mosaic tiles.
We installed a clear glass door for the shower and a frosted glass sliding door to maintain privacy from the bedroom but still provide additional daylighting.
Sink cabinet and mirror are both from IKEA (the mirror is hacked to allow the sconce above to cast light on your face). We changed light fixtures and added a towel dryer.
My makeover advice::
I always multiply by three my husband's time estimate. It's not that my husband is really optimistic but as DIYers working on remodeling our house only during (not every) week ends, any project take us forever to complete. Knowing this rule helps me to be patient and carry on step after step.
What I love most about my new space::
I was a bit nervous about picking this peachy color that i love but seem outdated to so many. I think it turned out so well, warm and inviting just like I wanted this space to be.
