Not all bathroom projects have to be major upgrades, sometimes a simple change can add a little bit of extra functionality and a lot of charm. Claire needed more storage but wasn’t particularly keen on running out to the store for a quick fix. After fate threw this vintage drawer into her path, it became clear that she was about to find her storage solution.

From Claire: This was an old drawer that I had picked out of a dumpster on my daily dog walk. The lovely old blue handle is what drew me to the drawer.

I needed some extra storage in my bathroom but didn’t want to spend any money on a boring bathroom cabinet from my local store. My bathroom is a bit plain, so I wanted something a bit more unusual than the normal bathroom cabinet.

This was a really simple and quick DIY. The materials cost very little as I basically had them all already. I just used some gift wrap, glue, paint, and wax plus a few screws.

Even though the cabinet has a couple of shelves it has proved to be a really handy bit of extra storage. The vintage whale paper really adds interest to the cabinet and I love how I managed to keep that lovely blue handle as it was. The whole rustic look of the shelving unit also provides a nice contrast to the rather clinical decor of the rest of the bathroom.
