Buying an island is a dream you probably never knew could come true. But located just off the coast of Belize, Stann Creek Island is for sale for just shy of $500K.

Listed with 7th Heaven Properties, the island is 12 miles off the coast of Hopkins Village in Stann Creek District, which is in the southeast region of Belize and home to the Belize Barrier Reef (the second longest reef system in the world) and Placencia Lagoon. It’s safe to say this real estate investment would be nothing short of stunning, surrounded by crystal clear water for snorkeling or scuba diving or taking that picture-perfect Instagram post.

The property isn’t just a piece of land, though. It comes with four cabanas built in 2014, that are classified by 7th Heaven Properties as two singles and two doubles, which accommodate two queen size beds, a full bathroom, a large kitchen, and a dining area. Another amazing aspect is its eco-friendliness: the entire island is primarily solar powered and comes with a backup generator.

Flying into Belize can be a breeze as most major airlines fly into Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE) in Belize City, about 80 miles north of the Stann Creek District. So what would you do with this private island that is surprisingly convenient to get to? The property company is floating a few ideas around, like making it a private retreat or converting it into a diving hotel, guest house, or a boutique private island retreat “if desired.”

We can think of a few other things: Buy it and rent it out to every bachelorette party; move there when you’ve finally had enough of winter; fill the cabanas floor to ceiling with houseplants. Really, you can’t go wrong.
