Bemz Is Having a Huge Summer Sale—And AT Readers Get An Even Bigger Discount
You know IKEA. You love IKEA. You probably have IKEA products in your home and will continue to have IKEA products in your home for years to come. As huge IKEA fans ourselves, we see no problem with that—but the downside to purchasing a budget-friendly, Scandi-designed sofa from the mega retailer is that, well, everyone else has one too. So how to stand out?
Enter Bemz. The Swedish company sells fabric covers for IKEA sofas, chairs, and cushions, as well as sofa legs that will fit on just about any IKEA sofa. The range is huge, with dozens of options in pretty much every color—and no matter what you choose, you’re guaranteed to upgrade your sofa so much that it will look so much more unique than a regular IKEA purchase.
Our Founder & CEO Maxwell Ryan is such a fan of Bemz that he collaborated with the company on a line of totally distinctive sofa legs, which launched in September. And right now, they’re in the midst of a huge summer sale on fabrics, with prices on select fabrics discounted by up to 30 percent. Even better: Bemz is giving AT readers an exclusive 10 percent discount for a limited time that can be used on top of that sale.
To give you a better idea of how Maxwell’s sofa leg collection and Bemz fabric swatches look on real sofas, we rounded up a few of our favorite combinations below. Be sure to check out the site though, because there are a ton more options at a range of price points and styles.
The Deal: Get 10% off any Bemz purchase when you enter ATVIP10 in the promo code field at checkout. This promotion runs through August 15, 2019. Discount cannot be applied after purchase.
The Terence leg adds a classic yet contemporary touch to your regular IKEA sofa. It comes in two sizes (the one pictured above is the taller, 18 cm option, but it’s also available in 14 cm) and is surprisingly versatile for such a bold design. Use it to add some height to your sofa, or simply to make your IKEA sofa feel a bit more distinctive.
The Terence fits most IKEA models, but it’s featured above with the modern Söderhamn sofa covered with the Brinken Herringbone fabric in jet black/sand beige. Herringbone is a timeless choice, and this particular fabric works so well because the design is subtle, adding some character without going overboard. This particular fabric isn’t included in the sale, but many others for the Söderhamn sofa are, including the Tegnér Melange in silver grey (20 percent off at $383) and the Panama Cotton in sand beige (20 percent off at $183).
Winston Sofa Leg, $20
The Winston leg has a distinctly English feel—doesn’t it remind you of an old English roll armchair? The style is definitely more traditional, but that doesn’t mean it won’t work in a modern space as well. In keeping with the classic vibe, it’s available in neutral shades of white and natural.
The Winston above is paired with the classic Karlstad sofa, covered in the Zaragoza Vintage fabric in velvet acorn. This particular fabric is currently 10 percent off and definitely transforms the IKEA sofa into something you might find if you get lucky while thrifting. If you love vintage sofas but want to save money, this is a great alternative. If you don’t love this fabric, there are many more Karlstad sofa covers available—including the 30 percent off Tegnér Melange in pearl white ($335).
Basil Sofa Leg, $20
If you want a sofa leg with a lower profile, the Basil is just about perfect. Rounded and playful, this leg fits right in with eclectic, contemporary spaces—and since it’s inspired by the colorful domes of St. Basil’s Cathedral, it comes in a brighter range of colors than the other two in this collection.
The Basil is featured above with the Klippan sofa covered in the Tegnér Melange fabric in ink blue. The darker shade of this fabric gives the Klippan a more sophisticated, moody feel, and is perfect for pairing with brighter legs to create a truly eye-catching piece. This particular hue isn’t on sale, but you can still snag this fabric for a discounted price in teal blue ($269) and even fuchsia (also $269).
