Benjamin Moore Just Announced Their 2017 Color of the Year (And It’s Not White This Time)
Last year, Benjamin Moore went light and bright when they picked Simply White as their color of the year. This year, the hue is a bit more dramatic. Any guesses? Here’s what they chose…
Shadow (2117-30)
From light to dark, Benjamin Moore’s Shadow is a rich, royal amethyst that is a “master of ambiance,” according to Ellen O’Neill, Benjamin Moore Creative Director. “It is a color that calls to mind a ‘past’, yet it can also make a contemporary, color-confident statement.”
If you read us on the regular, you’ll know the editors have been espousing dark and moody hues for the past year. Black reigned supreme for awhile, but back in May during a Facebook Live AMA, Executive Editor Janel Laban predicted that colors that were one off from black would take over.
This isn’t the first time the popular paint brand has gone with a color in the purple family; 2011’s Vintage Wine was a lighter, redder version of the royal hue.
