Best Kids' Parties: Curious George

My friend Lisa asked me to help with her son's second birthday. She wanted a chic modern Curious George birthday party with bright bold colors, but not the typical red and yellow that you often associate with Curious George, so we went with yellow and teal instead. She also wanted to be sure the guests (nearly all toddlers) were well occupied, so fun activities were a must.

I am a very budget-savvy person in general, but especially for events as they only last a few hours, so a lot of the details were either handmade, DIY or very inexpensive and new ways to do things. I created the paper backdrop and pinwheel cake toppers. The yellow table Lisa already owned was great for the desert. We served the cupcakes on clear chevron scrapbook paper instead of buying new platters or cake stands.

Party favors were wrapped with ribbon and finished with a cute favor tag. We also used the Curious George birthday surprise book as a guest book. All of Miles' friends and family wrote inside.
