This year, Kiana and Kaya had Mickey Mouse Science Clubhouse birthday party. As usual, we went a little over the top with the details.

Every child received a welcome package upon arrival – Mickey Mouse ears and a white lab coat, complete with name tag. The two birthday girls each had custom-made lab coats with their names embroidered above the pocket. They looked adorable!

We created a feature wall as a backdrop for the two (yes, TWO) birthday cakes and the custom cake pops. The feature wall was super bright and colourful, and really easy to create! It was simply made of circle cut-outs, star shaped Post-It notes, pinwheels and paper poms. A few fresh flowers in science-type vases and some helium filled balloons finished off the look.

We kept the food really simple and child friendly: egg salad sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches, pasta salad, tomato-bocconcini salad, and an assortment of fruits and veggies to snack on. We also created custom H2O labels for the water bottles, and made Jello with gummy worms in little beakers.

The beautiful cakes were custom designed and hand-painted, and were as delicious as they were beautiful.

For entertainment, we hired a scientist to do some demonstrations with the kids. He was a HIT! The kids especially loved making slime, watching the rocket launch, and making cotton candy. At the end of the party, the kids took home their loot bags (custom monogrammed mini-totes containing bug-catching equipment and specimen jar, NERDS in a petri dish, a test tube full of candy, and bubbles).

All in all, it was a fun-filled day.
