Mother's Day is coming up this weekend and for those of us who are always a little last minute thinking about this sort of thing (like me), I thought I'd pull together a list of ideas culled from folks here at Apartment Therapy and The Kitchn, as well as from your comments. I'm going to grow this list all day, so give me your best shots! And remember, moms can be young and old so let's mix it up!
- Adidas Women's ClimaCool Boat Sleek Shoes - From $29.98
Up top! Coming in 14 colors, ultra light and cool as the day is long, these are great water shoes or just to trip around town in the summer. Yes, there are holes in the shoes that allow the water to flow out, but that won't stop you if it's dry out. I wear the men's version like sandals.
Fleur Vibrante Healing Face Oil • From $15
A new discovery, this incredibly rich and smooth moisturizing oil sinks in and turns skin silky within moments. Filled with vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants it is "a must-have for sensitive skin, this healing balm is anti-inflammatory; strengthens tissue’s cell walls; reduces signs of photo (sun) damage such as hyperpigmentation, deep wrinkling and dehydration; and refines the texture and tone of skin for a glowing and luminous complexion."
- Rucksack No. 21 - $150
A friend has this bag, and I admired it from across the room. From Fjällräven, but made of their G-1000 waxed poly-cotton fabric with leather straps, this is a really nice small around-town day bag with a vintage feel. Comes in 10 colors!.
- London Alarm Clock - $30
A nice, big, bold black retro alarm clock from West Elm that will remove the digital from your mother's bedside and be a lot easier to reach when she wants to hit snooze.
- Scandi Bird Coasters - $36 for set of 4
This is a tight one... Handmade in Belfast, Maine, these are linen backed and cashmere sweater fronted coasters. Order quickly and Nitasia might just get these to you on time. :)
- BarkBox Gift Cards - From $29
Is she far away? Want to give your Mom a gift that keeps giving...to her favorite animal in the whole world? BarkBox sends a creatively-curated box of treats and toys for Mom's best friend each month. ($72 for a three-month subscription).
- Audible -
For the bookworm mom and to get her into the digital age, Audible.com has a great deal where new subscriptions come with a free 30-day trial and a free book. Thereafter Mom can enjoy one audiobook per month and 30% off additional books.
- Rough Linen Pinafore - $80
Better than an apron and more comfortable, Rough Linen's pinafore can be worn in the kitchen or around town. With two big pockets that will hold an iPhone, keys or a letter to be mailed. Comes in natural, white or black linen.
