I’ve yet to try it myself, but people are singing the praises of buckwheat hull pillows. Whether you buy one or make your own, buckwheat hulls are apparently great for neck and head support and air circulation. But it’s not just about pillows, as I’ve learned: if you truly want all the benefits that come from sleeping with buckwheat hulls, you should get a mattress topper.

The buckwheat hull mattress toppers from Etsy seller OpenYourEyesBedding consist of a canvas cover sewn into 32 sections, and each section holds one pound of organic buckwheat hulls. The instructions say to place the topper between your mattress and fitted sheet for “natural, body contouring support.”
