Bid On Cool Design Experiences And Support The Black Artists + Designers Guild
If you’ve been on the hunt for more ways to support the Black community, the Hearst Luxury and Design Group is auctioning off incredible design experiences through their Design Unites program, and auction proceeds will go to The Black Artists + Designers Guild, a nonprofit that “combats the lack of representation of Black talent and culture in the design industry” via programming, events, collaborations, and media connections.
The auction is packed with unique design-related experiences including a virtual consultation with either Jesse Carrier or Mara Miller of Carrier and Company Interiors, a “Zoom That Room” design experience with Clarence House and interior designer Michelle Nussbaumer, and a tour of Tillett Textiles with creative director Patrick McBride.
There are also a handful of design items up for auction such as a Patterson Flynn Martin area rug, the Andre Chair from Orior Furniture, and the Lee Radziwill Double Bag from Tory Burch. Hearst is also auctioning off a 5-night stay at the Isla Bella Beach Resort in the Florida Keys, as well as two tickets to the Billy Joel concert at Madison Square Garden in New York.
All items and experiences that are available to bid on are up on the Design Unites Charity Buzz page, and the bids are already starting to roll in.Bidding ends on July 21 at various times after 3 p.m. EDT. And if you don’t win the item or experience you’re bidding on, you can make a direct donation to The Black Artists + Designers Guild through the organization’s website. Per ELLE Decor, all proceeds collected from the auction will go toward BADG initiatives including Mission Fund, education, and the BADG Concept House, a virtual design project that “reimagines the future of home on our own terms, as a virtual experience for Black families,” as a response to COVID-19.
