Black, White & A Touch Of Blue

Black, White & A Touch Of Blue

I recently covered a bench with a black and white striped fabric. I'm in love with the look by itself, but I'm even more in love with it because it's sitting below a blue and pink print and next to a blue and silver table lamp. I grew up thinking that you should never pair blue and black — but gone are those days, so bring it on!

My mother was never a proclaimed fashionista, but it was just an unspoken rule that I picked up from her that black and blue simply do not go together. There were days when I would consciously decide whether I wanted to wear black or blue (or neither). I'm so happy to finally see that black and blue do work harmoniously together, particularly with the addition of white.

There's something so chic and refreshing about pairing black and white with blue. It doesn't matter if you go bright and bold or subtle and subdued with the blue, just the fact that its there is all that matters. This color combination is funny like that, you may not realize just how successful it is until it accidentally happens.
