For some reason we always thought our nasty air conditioner was a lost cause. This week though, New York Magazine shows us that there are solutions to hiding that big white mess...

Solutions range from left to right after the image of a plain old A/C: placing a piece of art, such as vintage holed tiles and an iron frame in front of the A/C; building a bas-relief sculpture that fits over the wall-unit; installing a short café curtain that sits a third of the way up the window just high enough to cover the A/C; adhering wrapping, scrapbook, or printed paper on the plastic casing; and building a lacquered ash cabinet to hide the A/C and all the cords and cables attached to other living-room electronics.

Do you have any cool solutions for hiding your cool air?
