Are you looking for ways you and your kids can live a more environmentally conscious lifestyle? Last week The Washington Post listed ten family-friendly ways to go green.

Here are a few of our favorite ideas from the list…

  • Before back to school shopping for new clothes, have a clothes swap party. Whatever you don’t give away, pack up and donate.
  • Have an “unplugged” evening at home – meaning no video games, no tv/movies, no email. Think of things to do together as a family that don’t require electricity – dine by candlelight, play board games or sing songs.
  • Teach your kids chemistry by showing them how to make natural cleaning products from vinegar, baking soda, and other things you have in your kitchen.
