Blood Powered Lamp by Mike Thompson

OK, this is weird, but with the popularity of vampires thanks to True Blood and Twilight, here's a lamp that's actually powered by blood. This is not for the squeamish.

Designer Mike Thompson created the lamp in response to American's over-consumption of energy.

To power the lamp you have to first break off the top. Then, after dissolving a tablet in the water, a drop of blood creates a simple light. The lamp can only be used once, forcing people to rethink how wasteful they are.

It may seem crazy, but I'll certainly think twice about leaving the lights on.
