You Won’t Beleaf the New Plants Bloomscape Just Released For Fall

The Dracaena Gold Star, Ficus Audrey, and Painted Desert Cacti Collection, all below $200, are all low-maintenance offerings that also remove harmful air toxins—a healthy plus for those affected by noxious air quality due to the wildfires. Bloomscape also unveiled expert tips and tricks on how to prune and prepare plants ahead of dormant season (found at the bottom of this article.)

A curated collection of three unique cacti, the Painted Desert Cacti Collection is low-maintenance, thrives in sunlight, and removes air toxins. 1. Gather supplies: a pair of sharp scissors or pruning shears are essential. 
2. Remove dead (or dying) leaves: cut leaves that are brown or yellow at the base, near the stem or at the soil—these attract pests and create an environment for mold. For brown or yellowing tips, remove just the affected edge or spots.
3. Trim healthy leaves: look for a leaf node and cut about ¼” above that scar at an angle—this encourages new growth.
4. Wipe scissors and shears: use rubbing alcohol between each snip, but be careful not to remove more than 20% of the entire plant while pruning—prune in stages to avoid removing too many leaves at once.
