I recently picked up a copy of Brit+Co's new book HomeMakers and thought I would share my thoughts on it with you. With cheerful, colorful photos and illustrations, the book reads like a primer on modern home life, embracing technology and creativity while remaining life-balance positive (Brit herself comes from a rather impressive background in tech).

If you are looking for an in-depth book on DIY or interior design, you will likely be disappointed; the book skips around from beauty tips and hairstyles to how to wire your home, to DIY projects and even recipes (whew), making it geared toward anyone who needs some general direction. Brit comes across like the cool big sister who teaches you how to braid your hair as she doles out decorating advice.

If you are feeling inspired, (and don't already have a craft-supply hoarding problem like I do) you can also pair the book with one of her popular Brit Kits, conveniently packaged DIY supplies including some for the projects in her book, like this DIY clock design.
