Getting kids outside, keeping them active, engaged and connected to nature is a topic we like to visit and revisit here at Ohdeedoh so we were really interested to come across One Year. Three Boys. One Book. The blog chronicles a year in the life of moms Stephanie and Alis as they work their way through The American Boys Handy Book with their sons. Stephanie describes it as "lots of grubby little boy stuff". Many of the activities are outdoor-based so this summer seems like the perfect time to visit their site and get inspired.

"How To Weigh A Dog"

What kinds of things are Alis, Stephanie and their boys up to? Knot tying, camping, frog catching, kite flying, bug hunting, you get the idea... You can keep up with them here and, if you'd like, purchase The American Boys Handy Book here. They've also set up a Flickr pool (currently with 44 members) to see what kinds of similar activities other kids are up to.

Some of you are probably thinking - can't girls do this stuff? Of course they can! Alis and Stephanie just happen to have boys: Why boys? Why not girls? Because we don't have girls, ourselves, and have no idea whether they'd like this kind of stuff anyway. Seriously. As far as we're concerned, girls are wonderful and welcome here!
