Brad Paisley Has a Non-Profit Grocery Store, and It’s Helping People During These Tough Times
In October 2018, country singer Brad Paisley and wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley announced plans to build The Store, a non-profit grocery store that would serve those in their Nashville community who were in need by offering free food and household supplies. Groundbreaking for The Store took place in 2019 and the organization was slated to open later this year.
However, due to “the hard work of many dedicated volunteers, partners and donors, The Store has been able to open earlier than anticipated,” Williams-Paisley announced via a March 13 Instagram.
“We can now serve the needs of the community beyond the initial scope of our original mission,” Williams-Paisley wrote in her Instagram caption. “In conjunction with our referral partners, we are now also offering aid to those affected by the recent tornadoes and/or the coronavirus outbreak.”
Not only are residents of Nashville contending with the effects of the coronavirus outbreak, but they’re also still recovering from the deadly tornadoes that took place in the first week of March.
“All of us are one unforeseen disaster away from rock bottom,” Paisley told The Tennessean in October 2018. “It’s nice to think about a place where when that happens to someone, they can use it to get back on their feet.”
Because of the current rules in place to curb the spread of the coronavirus, The Store is mobilizing volunteers who will serve those in need via drop off and pick up, according to The Store’s website. Nashville residents interested in receiving aid from The Store can email the organization at info@thestore.org.
