Rooms from Classic British Movies and TV Shows, Reimagined
Over the years, we’ve fallen in love with many British movies and TV shows—and with them, their set design: the moody Hogwarts halls in Harry Potter, the cozy nursery of Mary Poppins, Bridget Jones’s living room, where she hangs out in pajamas singing, “All By Myself”…
British flooring and bed company Carpetright teamed up with interior design studio 3D Lines and designer Giovanni Scippo to imagine what would these spaces look like if translated to modern homes. They put their spin on rooms from ten iconic British shows and movies from Sherlock to Wallace and Gromit. Here’s what they came up with:
Harry Potter
These paintings might not come to life, but with the exposed wooden beams and deep red furniture, this room looks like a real-life Gryffindor dorm.
Mary Poppins
This clean, sunny space gives plenty of room for imaginations to roam, even without a magical nanny.
Sherlock
Sherlock’s reimagined room is somber, comforting, and whimsical all at once, just like the classic detective novels.
Bridget Jones’s Diary
This take on Bridget’s living room takes us straight back to 2001, and to the last time we sat alone on the couch with a pint of ice cream, nursing a broken heart.
Wallace and Gromit
This real-world take on the claymation living room makes us wonder what real-life Wallace and Gromit would look like.
