Brooklinen Is Opening Their First Store to Help City Dwellers Relax
When you live in a bustling city that never sleeps, it’s nice to disconnect from your phone every once in a while and shop in a physical store. Sure, online shopping is great, but there’s nothing like walking into a brick and mortar to feel the products you might potentially buy—and we can’t wait to do just that inside Brooklinen’s first-ever store.
The former online-only brand is switching it up with a permanent location in New York City. The store is opening its doors on Thursday in Williamsburg, the popular neighborhood in Brooklyn—but not only because it’s a hot spot for tourists and locals alike. Brooklinen and Brooklyn have history.
“As a Brooklyn-born and based brand, the borough was a natural choice for our first permanent location,” said Rich Fulop, CEO and co-founder of Brooklinen, in a press release. “Our first-ever subway ad campaign was at the Bedford L stop in Williamsburg, a large portion of our team is based in Brooklyn, and a great deal of our customers are too. When discussing where to put down roots in this way, we immediately knew we wanted to be close to our customers. It’s good to be home!”
The company also expressed they want to specifically help New Yorkers counter the restless city life they’re constantly exposed to. “As New Yorkers, we know how important rest and relaxation are to balancing the grind of the city,” Brooklinen wrote in one of their promotional materials.
Customers will have a selection sheets, bedding, pillows, and more right at their fingertips, plus employees you can lean on for recommendations and advice. And for opening day, the first 100 purchasing customers will receive surprise gifts, and there will be complimentary shuttle service from the Bedford L subway stop to the store via micro-transit company Circuit.
If you’re not in the market for any items sold at Brooklinen, it’s still worth stopping by and taking a break from the city. It’s amazing what feeling some soft sheets can do.
