Buy Rihanna’s NYC Rental For $17 Million

Looks like RiRi is on the move once again—this time in New York. The penthouse duplex that the pop star turned fashion and beauty mogul has been renting in Soho/Nolita is now on the market.

Rihanna moved into the 11th and 12th floor apartment at 129 Lafayette Street back in 2013, and was paying a cool $39,000 a month for it. Even stars balk at rent increases, because the most recent monthly fee is reported at $50,000 (could you imagine getting a $2,750 per month rent hike every year?).

The space itself is a 4,660 square foot four bedroom, three and a half bath property across two floors, with an expansive wraparound terrace that adds another 2,400 square feet. You enter via the top floor into the great room with 13 foot ceilings and a wood burning fireplace (and access to that stunning terrace). The kitchen and the powder room are also on the main level. Downstairs are the bedrooms and three full bathrooms, with the master boasting Empire State Building views, a dressing room, a huge walk in closet, and a spacious master bathroom with a soaking tub and double shower.

The building, which formerly contained a bookbinder and printing houses, was built in 1911 and converted to condos in 2004, according to the New York Post. The penthouse unit is owned by celebrity fashion photographer Antoine Verglas, who has shot the stunning visages of Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, and Cindy Crawford.

RiRi recently bought a new pad in West Hollywood, after selling her Beverly Hills home to Chrissy Teigen and John Legend last year. As for where she’ll stay in New York, we’ll just have to wait four five seconds to find out.

The property is listed with Town Residential for $16.95 million.
